Monday starts March is Reading Month.
The goal is for every student and adult in the building to read 600 minutes during the month - that works out to 20 minutes a day, every day (7 days a week). Are you up for it? I'm excited and have a whole stack of books ready. Our class has adopted Mrs. Boles and Mrs. Ross to help us reach our goal.
For the really industrious readers, you can work towards getting into the 2010 club by reading 2010 minutes during the month (that works out to about 60-70 minutes per day).
We need to pick a topic from informational texts that we can use as a theme to decorate our door. Anyone have any ideas?
On April 1st, we'll have a Read-In to celebrate our month of reading. Let's think of some fun things to plan for that day.

Is there anything you'd particularly like to do during this fun, reading month?

Happy Valentine's Day / Long weekend
Hope everyone enjoys their Valentine's day and their days off this weekend.
The teachers were at school on Friday, taking a class. It was very interesting and our teacher was very good.
Next week we are going to start some of our preparations for our Mission to Mars. If you don't have your permission slip in yet, get it in soon. The money is due on March 2nd.
We will be finishing up our unit on Geometry this week and there will probably be a test next week some time. You'll be getting a study guide.
Mrs. Boles is going to start reading a new book to the class. It is called The Fighting Ground and is an historical ficition book set during the Revolutionary War. You are going to like it.
What else is on everyone's mind?
